About
Hey friends,
My name is Chris Colten, and I’ve been shooting photos for as long as I’ve been able to load film into a camera. As a kid I wanted to capture everything I saw and share it with friends and family. I went through countless disposable cameras and rolls of film everywhere I went.
My first gig as a professional photographer was shooting cars for Fields Auto Group. It was a dream come true. I was handed the keys to countless poster cars, including Maseratis, Jaguars, Porsches, and even a Ferrari. My photos were often confused for the manufacturer’s stock photos, and hearing “you took that?” was a regular occurrence. I spent over two years shooting cars every day, in all weather conditions, before leaving Illinois for sunny Colorado.
Outside of photography, I’m an avid car enthusiast. I can often be found carving through canyons in my little red Miata or tinkering in the garage. Now that I’m located in the mountains, I’ve been able to add the obligatory “hiking and biking” to my list of interests. I consider myself competent in the kitchen and have been told I make great avocado toast, a staple of any millennial diet.
Nowadays, I shoot every type of subject matter I am presented with, which includes but is not limited to:
- Cars
- Pets
- Events
- Wildlife
- Landscapes
- Engagements
- Portraits
Big emphasis on wildlife. I spend a lot of time in the wilderness looking for animals, regardless of the season and weather conditions.
Photography is a phenomenal art form. I also believe that it is a useful tool for businesses to relay information. I’ll happily capture images to suit your needs, whatever they may be.
